The Industrial Metal duo continues to blaze its own trail through a synthetic landscape reminiscent of the end of the world. Aggressive, dark, and uncompromising, a crushing second opus.
FauxX returns with their second album — a powerful statement that, while still rooted in a progressive approach, delivers sharper, more direct compositions. Carving out a distinctive sonic territory, the metal-industrial duo continues to defy trends, forging their path through a raw interplay of organic drums, synth alchemy, and torn, visceral vocals.
Tracks such as “Hyperwar” and “The Revealer” (featuring Diego Janson from Karras) show a more aggressive side! Others, such as “Burnt Velvet Retinas” and “Demiurge Data,” call for trance with their introspective endings.
With dripping synthetic leads, raw choruses, and sticky, chemical atmospheres, each track adds to the whole, offering the perfect soundtrack for a Gaspard Noé on LSD.
Of particular note is the cover of “Here Comes the War” by British band New Model Army, a highly topical track.
FauxX played live, culminating in Hellfest in 2022, sharing the stage with bands such as Nine Inch Nails, Ministry, Front 242, Shaarghot, and Horskh.
This album, Anteroom, is permeated with a feeling of breaking point, that tipping moment when everything becomes dizzying, when the slightest tension turns into an apocalypse.
